“Energy cannot be created or destroyed, it can only
be changed from one form to another.” Albert Einstein
“Like most humans she lived in a white picket fence world, its colours and ideology muted for human understanding. The real world was far more violent and yet also more wonderful than she had any idea of. Once he revealed the real world to her, its real nature … she would never look at it the same way again. She would see and recognise the hidden. Not only would she be changed in the way that she viewed the world but other beings would recognise her knowledge and might even seek her out”

“This planet has two worlds co-existing on it: there is the human world … protected, muted and oblivious … and there is the real world … where the mortal exist alongside the immortal, the natural with the supernatural.”
“All your childhood stories … fables … Faery tales? Witches and Warlocks. Faerie folk. Vampires. Shape-shifters. Dragons. Merfolk. Werewolves. Ogres and goblins. All true. Every tale I’ve ever heard has either been factual or based on an element of truth”.

DARK BEGINNINGS (BOOK TWO)
Her eyes slid back to the painting against her will. Her heart felt heavier than it had in her entire existence and her eyes pricked with unshed tears.
Her
mind slipped to the W.H Auden poem ‘Funeral Blues’ and one particular verse
kept repeating in her head:
‘The stars are not wanted now; put out
every one,
Pack up the moon and dismantle the sun,
Pour away the ocean and sweep up the woods;
For nothing now can ever come to any good.”
Pour away the ocean and sweep up the woods;
For nothing now can ever come to any good.”
Nothing would ever be the same again. She had loved him, totally and irrevocably.
"And that, whilst this planet has gone cycling
on according to the fixed law of gravity, from so simple a beginning endless
forms most beautiful and most wonderful have been, and are being, evolved.” Charles
Darwin
"Darkness
cannot drive out darkness: only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate:
only love can do that.” Martin Luther King
Jr.
Liser is devastated by the murder of someone she loved deeply and is

sadistic killers are on the loose and The Coven decide to hunt them. A
vindictive ghost is starting to raise his head again. Amidst the death
and confusion that follows, love somehow manages to creep through and
give strength to those who need it most.

Elsie is fading fast and her magick is weakened when it is most
needed. Gareth’s killers have escaped
justice and are being hunted by both Jared and their own family. Chloe is determined to find her missing
friend, despite the strange people that now call themselves her family. Liser is still in denial about her feelings
towards the Human Peter. James and Ellie
find themselves at the mercy of a depraved and sadistic ‘ghost’: their survival
dependent on the whim of a cruel Hunter.
“The Vampire had laughed
viciously and instead of killing them, he’d turned them … and then abandoned
them to find their own way into immortality”
“He sighed heavily. He hated involving Humans in the
Supernatural. It never ended well. Humans had an idealised idea of what the
world was, believing themselves to be the superior and ruling species: they
fought their petty wars, had their little love affairs, ensured the continuance
of their line and then died. They had no
idea of what the real world was: of what surrounded them. They lived in an oblivious little bubble.”
“She was immediately distracted, as she returned his desire with an angry passion that he couldn’t help responding to. She pulled him quickly towards the bed, as she whipped his top over his head and he fumbled with hers. They fell in a tangled heap and savagely leapt at each other, desire to brand, mate and mark overwhelming every other thought in their eager bodies.”

Lawrence pushed his long, inky black hair
behind his ear, catching it slightly on the diamond stud. His red eyes had a demonic edge as he lowered
his mouth and once more sank his massive fangs into the semi-conscious young
woman on his lap. Her breathing was
becoming more laboured as he sucked long and hard. Her breathing ceased. He took another long pull and then pushed her
roughly off his lap.
A nearby Human pet scurried up to him,
grabbing hold of the girl’s arm and dragging her lifeless body away before it
could get in his way. He dispassionately
watched the pale young man leave the room with the corpse and then turned to
his mate.
She looked immaculate as always: curls piled
high on her head, heavy jewellery at her neck and her beautiful Georgian dress
emphasising her pert bust and slim waist.
She’d watched him feed with as much interest as anyone would watch their
partner drink a glass of wine.
He started to speak when Jorge burst in. Lawrence frowned at him, growling low in his
throat. Now that he had sated one
hunger, he’d intended assuaging the other with his mate. He resented the intrusion from his Vampire
employee.
“I am
sorry My Lord, to interrupt, but we have word of their whereabouts”
Lawrence stared with obvious interest but
said nothing.
“We are
led to believe that they have gone to Mark’s house in The South, My Lord …
there is even rumour between the ‘Humans’” he spat the word with contempt, “that the very death they meant to avenge by
killing the Emote was a mistake … that Mark lives and they are currently with
him”.
Lawrence stood abruptly. He paced to the window and stared out, a low
growl building in his chest.
“Alex
and Jude” he
spat in disgust “have brought nothing but
dishonour to this family. They
avenge a death that hasn’t happened. They
kill but repeatedly leave witnesses. They run
away from London instead of fighting. At
every turn they bring shame and dishonour.
Leo and
I will go to Mark’s house. We will bring
an end to their shame. After
that, we will pay a call on the Emotes that rudely interrupted My Lady’s
afternoon with her sister. We will
teach them that no one enters our property without prior invite.
Especially
not scum … not Emotes. We will
rid the earth of these abominations and thus teach others not to take our
privacy lightly!”

“loving

third book, new writer deserves a chance, you will not be disappointed”.
"again new boundaries are being pushed, where they go we have yet to find
out. The evil that was hinted at in the first book, rears its ugly head
again & you are left wondering how far someone can be pushed before
they break...."

reviews for Book 1, Emotes:
“'Emotes'
is definitely not your average vampire story, it takes a existing genre and
introduces (I think) a new genre which was interesting to read.”
“Loved
the new twist to the vampire. They are evolving!! Can't wait for book two. If
you love fantasy and romance then you will enjoy this book.”
“Elizabeth
Lord is a first time writer and if you're willing to give her a chance, give
this book a go as she's given us a slightly different take on the vampire
genre. Emotes is an entertaining read if you are into fantasy and the fae”
